What does it mean to rest in today’s modern life, the hurry of the everyday and pressure to sustain our lives? What do we intentionally say ‘yes’ to and ‘no’ to?
How do we stay connected to peace and joy? In this series “Rest”, I simply explore moments of…rest. Scenes from garden hedges, daily walks, inspiration from North London flora and fauna. Created in peaceful, intentional rest, drawing on my faith as a compass to guide me.
In celebrating the shapes of the seasons, we learn that nature always has inbuilt moments of ‘rest’. Celebrating winter, we appreciate spring. Summer crops, lead to Autumn joy. The shapes and implicit memories of each season propel our own bodies into sleep or energy…
Using a celebration of textural body and a zingy, intense and fresh palette, my marks are expressive and interpretive and have a dreamy feel to them, which for me, gives me a deep sense of fulfilment and joy. The practical concept of ‘resting’ and ‘creating’ as an intentional weekly and seasonal rhythm underpin all of this collection.
My Christian faith grounds my art practice in an interpretive, mindful, worshipful and prayerful way of celebrating joy.

Inspired by the 2025 summer exhibition of David Hockney at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, I worked on watercolours on holiday. Bringing back the ‘plein air’ practice to North London, I observed the same spot as Autumn set in. Responding to the same scene each week, I created this collection. Bathing in nature, amist bemused dog walkers and joggers, I found peace.

Welcome to my Reflections Series.
"Reflections" admires the ripples and reflections of local ponds aquatic life and biodiversity.
"Reflections" acknowledges the time spent looking both upwards (at the skies) and downwards (within the water) and yet also mirrors the metaphor of our spirits search for meaning. For me, reflections remind me that there is always more. In our search for meaning, through the looking we are reminded of our small part in a much larger universe….
Each piece is rich in layered depths of deep blues, greens and with a subtle undertone of yellow. The brushstrokes are feathery, light, fluid and moving.

Welcome to my “Storm Series” collection.
“Though the winds may come and and rain may fall I remain steadfast” - Promises, Maverick City
This series was inspired by my recent return to learning how to dinghy sail, windsurf and kayak on a local reservoir. Falling in many times, I was exhilarated and energised.
It was also during a stormy emotional season where I was processing a range of feelings, but in the comfort that I was held by my assured hope in my faith. My faith, friends and family were the anchor in this time.
I hope “Storm series” allows you to feel a sense of peace in any storm.

Autumn party calling - all welcome! Autumn starts with the feasting celebration of juicy, bountiful harvest fruits and russet ferns. It leaves with the ultimate decay into winter. During the second lockdown Jan to March 2021 I found myself trying to escape mentally by imagining my local North London muddy green spaces in heavenly realm palettes. It was a dark time for many and I escaped the news by getting out, walking in nature, then turning up the imagination and travelling inside. Winter is my least preferred season, but having worked on these, it became my favourite! I loved how the frozen decay of leaves showed beautiful forms and shapes of bear branches. In some I felt they took on an underwater feel, interesting to me as I love aquariums and marine life. I felt the lesson of winter taught me to see the hope in the midst of darkness, that in life we need the clearing out of winter to make room for the growth of Spring. That spoke to me personally on so many levels during co-vid. What could we leave behind from our old ways of being to make room for growth?
